Cotton panties are the way to go when trying to prevent yeast infections. While underwear or tights made from silky nylon or polyester look and feel good, they tend to trap moisture. Be sure to use cotton underwear so that you can ventilate your vagina. This can keep a yeast infection from occurring at all.

Eat yogurt daily to avoid getting a yeast infection. There is bacteria in yogurt that keep yeast infections from occurring. Remember that this is a preventative measure, and it will not make an infection go away if one is already in process.

Do not use tea tree oil until you have mixed it together with another product, as this can cause burning and discomfort. This is very effective in fighting yeast infections and restoring balance.

Eating a cup full of plain yogurt daily can work to prevent a yeast infection. The bacterias in yogurt help fight against the organisms that allow a yeast infection from forming. Having said that, you should understand that yogurt does not help to eliminate a yeast infection if you are currently suffering from one. It simply helps prevent one from occurring in the first place.

If you swim or exercise frequently, know that you need to change clothing just as frequently. You should not be relaxing in sweaty or wet clothing. Damp environments allow yeast to flourish. Change your clothes right after working out. Also make sure that you change your underwear as well.
